Welcome to The Kindership!
Hi, I’m Ava Corrado, a specialist in early childhood educator.
For the past 15 years, I’ve worked as a nanny around the world, caring for children from newborns to age seven. During that time, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, where I deepened my understanding of how the early years shape a child’s independence, relationships, and natural curiosity. My experience as a nanny, combined with my studies, led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology with a focus on Early Childhood.
While working toward my Master's, I taught in various preschools, gaining hands-on experience with different learning approaches, including Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Play-based, and Inclusion models. These approaches prioritize child-led learning. This exposure reinforced my belief that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to education. Every child is unique, and learning should be adaptable to fit their needs.
I know that parenthood can be busy and sometimes overwhelming, so my goal is to provide families with fun, engaging, and practical educational activities that are easy to integrate at home. Whether in a classroom or at home, my focus is on helping parents and children find learning solutions that work for them.
Okay, now that we established the 'Kinder', lets talk about the "Ship"
The Ship aka The Boat
In July 2021, my fiancé and I moved aboard our 38-foot sailboat, Athena, embracing a life of adventure on the open sea. Over the past few years, we’ve sailed more than 3,000 nautical miles, living and working aboard as we sailed from Denmark to the United States.
During this time, I created Kindership, a way to continue working closely with families while traveling. Living and sailing on our boat has given me the unique opportunity to connect with families from diverse backgrounds, deepening my understanding of what it truly means to care for and support children in different cultures and environments.
